Italian sculptor (Bissone 1576 - Rome 1636). In Rome he worked mostly for Paolo V, that commissioned him with two bas-reliefs for the Cappella Paolina in S. Maria Maggiore ; two of his terracotta-works depicting Hercules' Labours , now in the Ca' d'Oro in Venice, are still conserved. He is mostly known however for the statue of S. Cecilia in the Roman church by the same name, the only work in which he achieved great gentleness of expression and fine modelling sensitivity.
